Thomas Alexander P.E., LEED AP (BD+C)
Principal/ Electrical Engineer
Thomas is a Principle and Electrical / Energy Design Engineer with Humber-Garick Consulting Engineers. Thomas has seven years of consulting engineering experience in lighting, power and fire alarm and five years experience working as a commercial electrician.
Thomas A. Alexander, P.E., LEED AP (BD+C) has been designing electrical systems in Mississippi, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Florida since 2006.
Thomas’s design experience includes campus electric utility distribution design, campus lighting and control design, and building interior and exterior power, lighting, telecommunications, controls, and fire alarm systems design. Type of construction design experience includes military power distribution, new and renovated schools, multi-family housings, post offices, fire/police stations, churches, parking garages and state parks. His experience encompasses being a consultant to Architects and Contractors as well as being a project manager for prime electrical projects. He is experienced in life safety egress and exit lighting in large industrial complexes.
In addition, Thomas has electrical contractor field experience as a project manager, installer and tester in many electrical and lightning protection projects throughout Florida and Alabama.
Thomas is the Project Engineer for a Design-Build effort that is removing and replacing the base wide existing medium voltage 15 kV overhead distribution system with a new underground distribution system at Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. All overhead cables, switches, and transformers were replaced with new underground duct bank, pad-mounted switches, and pad-mounted transformers in a 17-phase stepped project. The design and management also included primary voltage change from the utility company and replacing the existing primary distribution sub-station and the extensive Environmental permitting approval process for the extent of the project. Total Construction Cost = $42,000,000.
